The Celebrities I look like

So that's it!

London's Calling??

I had the strangest dream last night.

I moved to London, but I moved on impulse. I was with two friends (whom I can't identify) and we all decided we would move right then and there. We each went home and packed bags and boarded a flight to London. When we got there we had to go to a culture class to learn how to act in London. One of the lessons was about baseball in England and that it is more relaxed and funny! After the meeting I called the ex to tell him he had to pick up the kids from daycare because I was in England. (apparentley it was that quick of a decision because I didn't wait until my kids got out of school!!) It ended right about there, there is more detail but I can't remember it.

I woke up very disoriented and had to remember where I was and check that my kids were there. It was just really stange I don't like being away from my kids more than a week tops and I am terrified of hieghts so a plane ride like that would send me into hysterics!

Hmmmm wonder what all that was about?

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

the good

Yesturday was an uneventful day as far as work goes, we had some problems with reports and I had to e-mail the payroll support guy a million times to get things straightened out but I made it work. Dinner was good with Jman and all the kids. All and all I hva nothing to complain about personally.

the bad

I talked to a friend of mine that I have not seen in years it was her birthday and I wanted to wish her a happy birthday. Her 1 year old daughter has been battling cancer for the past 4 months or so. It is very sad to see this little girl with tubes in her for chemotherapy and going through multiple surgeries to get rid of the large tumor in her abdomin. K was not in the best of spirits, having to deal with this and her marriage is failing. It is sad and I truly feel for my friend.

The ugly

K I found out has just kicked her husband out of the house, I have known K for years and she is a fighter and doesn't give up so this shocked me to say the least and then she opened up to me. She said that he had gone for a massage and it had a happy ending! (I didn't think that really happened) She had found out and was really angry with him, but that wasn't what did it. He had said that it was just a handjob and that wasn't cheating. That was the last straw, she felt like after 8 years, she and he should have been on the same page about this stuff. Not to mention that they should have been supporting each other while dealing with there youngest childs illness. I truly feel for this family and my prayers are with them, for whatever outcome is best for them. I am not a judgmental person, do I believe that a "happy ending" is cheating hell yea! But I know that this is not my marriage and my job is to be there fo my friend no matter what her decision is and not to judge her on that decision.

I found all this out after reading this post Maggie on Monogamy it had me wondering what is the definition to monogamy? Do Jman and I have the same views on it? Who defines it?

So tell me what are your thoughts on monogamy?

Grateful

I decided I want to be more positive, so today I am doing a little list of things I am grateful for. Some are little stupid things that I just like, and some are the big things that most people are grateful for.

1. I am grateful for my friends. They listen to me when I am whiney and sad, they celebrate with me, they are my soul mates.

2. I am grateful for my offspring. They make me laugh, cry, and feel accomplished. They have taught me many things and I am just grateful they are mine.

3. BIG sunglasses. They just look right on me little ones look funny.

4. Getting pedicures ~ this is the best thing ever

5. Being able to support myself. My independence is very important to me so being able to work everyday and making enough money to afford my lifestyle is a blessing.

6. Great food ~ I love to cook and I am grateful for being able to make great food

7. Alcohol ~ Whether it be a cold beer after a long day, a nice glass of wine, or cocktail, there are times that I am just grateful to be over 21 and responsible enough to enjoy all of the above.

8. I am grateful for the little things that make me smile

9. I am grateful that I am me, I like my personality and wouldn't want to be any different

10. I am grateful for the direction of my life, I feel like I have the reigns and am steering for the first time I am no longer just along for the ride I now control the ride.

What are you grateful for?

Deception

Last night for the first time I had to ground my daughter. She comes home from school and is there for an hour before Jman gets home. Wednesday Jmans son (the 8 year old) came by the house during that time and hung out with my Daughter, well he convinced her to go to the corner store with him. This is not allowed when I am not there. It is only a block down the street but if I am not home and something happens I don't know how I would find out and be there as fast as possible so it isn't allowed unless I am home. She knows this, she is aware of my rules and she broke one so I took away her TV. Thursdays she watches her little brother for the hour that they are home, Jman's son was over again and stayed for dinner. I am sitting there having dinner and my son turns to me and says they went to the store. I asked my daughter and she tells me no I just checked the mail. My son starts to get upset and says that she did go to the store but only once Jman's son went twice. Jman's ex has very different rules than I do and this is allowed in his house but not mine and I let him know that if he wanted to be at my house he had to follow the rules of this house. I am trying to get the truth out of my daughter and she keeps insisting that she didn't go to the store. Jman's son then comes out and says "OK I will tell you the truth, She came to the store with me one time" and she is saying no no I didn't while crying. So she is caught and then I find out they left my son in the house alone. BIG no no. Needless to say she is grounded no TV no radio no computer. I am more hurt about the lying than I am about the act itself although I am angry that she left her little brother alone even if it was for maybe 10 minutes. She is home because after school she plays a sport and it ends at 4 no after school will take her for the hour so she walks the block to the house and does her homework. Now I am not sure what to do, do I give her another chance and see what happens or do I pull her from the sport and put her in the afterschool program full time? And on top of everything I found out Jman's son was going through my things while we weren't home. One of my things ended up in the boys room (one of my "adult" things) so he isn't allowed at the house with out Jman or I there! All this on a Thursday night!! I have changed my hours and will be home at 4:30 now so it should work out.

Did you see Greek Anatomy last night? I liked it, it was a little dark but I think it's just the set up for the season.

Reconstruction

I haven't been writing lately but I have been reading some really wonderful thought provoking posts. So I began to think about my own life and little things that make me happy and what can I change in my life to improve upon what I have. When I had my surgery I was home for a week and did nothing but lay in bed and watch T.V. (most of which I napped through) One day I woke up to an episode of Oprah, she had a man named Rabbi Shmuley what he had to say hit home with me. I really liked the values he was talking about instilling in our youth today. He takes about how it is important that you treat your spouse as an equal and the greatest gift we can give our children is loving our spouse. He was talking to people who spoil their children on Oprah and it wasn't that I was interested in it was the core message he was conveying that really got me listening. So I bought two of his books on Amazon. One of the things I want to improve upon is communicating effectively with my children, my daughter will be 11 this year (scary as hell) and I want to instill values that I think are lacking as a whole in society. I don't believe these books will revolutionize the way I am but maybe it will open my eyes to new ideas or approaches.

One of the other things I would like to improve upon would be my overall health. I am experiencing migraines again. (Had a dousy this weekend) And since my surgery I am just not feeling myself. My stress level is up, I am eating crap way too often and not eating fresh foods enough. I need to find my balance again. I need to take a step back and think about what I am putting into my body that is causing me to feel sluggish and achy all the time. I have realized (from reading a few of other peoples posts) that what I am putting into my body is a trigger for these migraines and that if I don't start to take batter care of my body I am only doing a disservice to myself by having to spend one of the last really nice weekends in my bed with the shades drawn.

I guess it's nice to realize though that I am and always will be a work in progress.

Even though I shouldn't...

Some times I do...

1. Eat Mcdonald's or worse Taco Bell.

Most of the time I don't, I cook most nights and eat the lunch I bring to work or buy something remotely healthy... but there are days that I just have to have a big steamy pile of greasy fries.

2. Swear like a sailor.

I have a VERY poor mouth. I have two small children whom know better than to swear, at least at this point. But I can't help myself I swear with out ever realizing it at least I don't realize it until someone points it out. For instance when my baby boy says "mommy watch your language" or my friend says I have never known anyone who is as creative as you with the fowl langauge.

3. Drink a little too much on a weakday.

There are just some days that I want a nice cold beer when I get home which leads to maybe 5 or a couple glasses of wine and before I know it the bottle is gone. And when it's on a Tuesday and I know that I have to pay for it on Wednesday but I still do it!

SO those are some of mine what are yours?
